Diana von Welanetz Wentworth has enjoyed a celebrated career as an author of award-winning cookbooks and as a popular public speaker and television host.
Her books include the current release, Send Me Someone, a true tale of love here and hereafter (Renaissance, 2001), and the Chicken Soup for the Soul Cookbook with Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen (Health Communications, Inc., 1993), which has sold nearly half a million copies to date in seven languages. Along with Dan Millman she is currently co-authoring Chicken Soup for Body and Soul, featuring 101 stories that inspire readers to attain their physical goals.
With her late husband, Paul von Welanetz, Diana wrote and published six cookbooks, including The Pleasure of Your Company (Atheneum, 1976), winner of the French Tastemaker "Cookbook of the Year" award, and The von Welanetz Guide to Ethnic Ingredients (J. P. Tarcher, 1983), considered the classic reference for international ingredients. Diana and Paul also hosted their own long-running daily television series, The New Way Gourmet, broadcast to millions of viewers internationally on the cable Health and the Lifetime networks.
In 1985 the von Welanetzes launched a visionary new enterprise called the Inside Edge. At weekly breakfast meetings throughout Southern California, individual chapters of the Inside Edge provided a high-energy environment in which members heard prominent speakers present forward-thinking ideas about expanding human potential, helping to launch the careers of many of the most celebrated authors and speakers in the human-potential movement.
